Biographie

Helga Schuhr est née en 1944 à Heilbronn Allemagne. Elle fréquente l'Ecole des Art et Métiers de cette ville puis, durant une année, suit les cours de l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Newport en Grande-Bretagne. Etablie à Neuchâtel depuis 1965, devenue Suissesse en 1967, elle vit et travaille à Chez-le-Bart Neuchâtel Suisse. Elle explore aussi bien le dessin, la gravure que la peinture à l'huile ou l'acryl . Ses supports de prédilection sont la toile, le papier ou les espaces muraux. En 1974, elle expose pour la première fois en Allemagne et en Suisse. A partir de là, ses expositions personnelles et collectives se suivent sans interruption en Allemagne, France, Suisse, Russie , Lituanie, Libye et aux Etats-Unis. Ses œuvres figurent dans nombre de collections publiques et privées. Ses séjours réguliers à New York depuis 1992 sont pour elle une source constante d'inspiration.

Helga Schuhr was born in 1944 in Heilbronn, Germany. It is there that she attended the School of Arts and Crafts, a formation subsequently rounded off with a year at the Newport (Great Britain) School of Fine Art. As a resident of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, since 1965 - and a Swiss citizen since 1967 - the artist lives and works in the Neuchâtel district village of Chez-le-Bart, Switzerland. Helga Schuhr explores a wide variety of alternatives supports from canvas to paper, furniture, walls and large-scale tarps - and media, going from drawing to engraving, from oil to acrylic paint. A first show of her work, which took place in Germany and Switzerland in 1974, has since been followed by a continuous series of solo and group shows in Germany, France, Switzerland, and the United States. A number of her works have made their way into varius public and private collections. Since 1992, longer stays in New York City on a regular basis have served the artist as a constant source of inspiration.

So entstehen auf unterschiedlichen Bildträgern wie Leinwand, Papier, PVC, oder Metallplatten grossformatige Werke, die teilweise durchzogen sind mit photographischen Elemente. Zahlreich Werke befinden sich in privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen. Seit 1974 zeigt Sie ihre Arbeiten in Einzel und Gruppenaustellungen in der Schweiz, Deutschland, Frankreich, Lybien, Russland, und USA.
